Oozing character from its wooden beamed ceilings and traditional cottage decor, this cosy hideaway is ideal for a couple who are looking for a romantic getaway by the sea. Spend your time away discovering the secluded beaches, scenic walking trails and quaint villages of the Northumberland Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty while staying in a quiet, rural village.

As you enter the property you’ll be drawn in by its charm with wooden decor throughout the open-plan lounge/diner. Snuggle up on the sofa with a glass of bubbly while you warm your toes in front of the open fire. Just behind you, is a dining table where you can sit down for a candle-lit meal for two. Continue into the kitchen and play chef for the evening in this bright neutral-toned space with shaker-style cabinets and colourful tiling. Also on the ground floor is a bathroom. Climb the stairs to reach the first floor which contains a king-size bedroom with sloped ceilings and exposed beams.

While staying in the sleepy village of North Sunderland, within 1 mile of your front door, you’ll be able to reach Seahouses Beach. The large coastal village of Seahouses also offers a pretty harbour, gastropub, and boat tours to the Farne Islands Puffins Rookery. Spend a day exploring Bamburgh (3.5 miles) where you can visit the imposing castle, museum, and tearooms. Stroll along the seafront to reach Bamburgh Lighthouse (4.5 miles) and the golf club. When it's low tide, you can drive across a causeway (16 miles) to reach Holy Island which is steeped in history with a castle and shops.

The situation of the cottage is very peaceful although it is on Main Street. The bed is beautifully comfortable and the bedroom enormous. The open fire was excellent on the few nights we needed it.

Cottage very well equipped with everything you would need, power shower excellent, bed very comfy we slept very well, just be aware of the low beams in the bedroom, parking excellent behind the cottage, only a short walk into Seahouses.

Disappointed. Headroom on the stairs and in the bedroom is quite significant. At 5ft 5 inches I was impacted and my husband was unable to stand upright at all . Beware the heating system in anything other than fine weather. House was cold and unwelcoming when we arrived and again the next morning. You either require to set a fire in the grate or haRead moreve a supply of 2 coins. Smart meter in the kitchen continually tells you how much electricity you are using which was also unwelcoming. On a positive note the property was quiet, walkable to the harbour although officially in North Sunderland and not Seahouses as expected and has easy parking. Hide

This apartment was totally unsuitable for habitation. There was a damp smell, which hit you on entering the cottage. The upstairs bedroom was like a greenhouse as the sun had been out all day. The headroom in the bedroom was very restricted in places, especially when moving around the bed. We did not stay overnight in the cottage as I was worried aRead morebout the damp. My wife had Sepsis in November 2022 and we could not take the chance of any spores being present in the cottage as she is now vulnerable to infection. We spent the first two nights in an apartment at the Olde Ship Inn and then secured 4 nights in a holiday house in South Street. This obviously involved significant additional expense on our part, not to mention the stress we experienced in trying to find alternative accommodation. Having just buried my Mother the Thursday before travelling to Seahouses, this holiday came just at the right time to relax and unwind, little did we know what awaited us. We are now in Keswick for a week and on our return home I will be in touch to take this matter further. Maurice Patterson Hide
