The property has been beautifully furnished with everything you need for a comfy, relaxing break. Take turns cooking tasty fayre in the contemporary kitchen using fresh fish and local produce. There’s also a stylish shower room and a separate WC on the ground floor. Enjoy a good night’s sleep in the three bedrooms: a pretty king-size room with great storage, and two twin rooms, after a good soak in the family bathroom, which is also on this floor. If you fancy a bit of peace, you can sit and read in the little seating area on the first-floor landing. Outside, is a lovely, enclosed garden with pretty lawns and planting. Sit and relax on sunny afternoons and have a few drinks alfresco as the sun goes down.

Wander to Newton’s idyllic beach (0.5 miles) for a stroll along the sands – you can even walk to Dunstanburgh Castle and back (about a 6-mile round trip). Visit Craster (5.5 miles) and come home with smoked kippers for tea, head to Seahouses Harbour (7 miles) and go on a boat trip to explore the Farne Islands, or visit iconic Alnwick Castle (9 miles), well known to fans of Downton Abbey and Harry Potter!

Superbly clean and well appointed, this is without a doubt the best holiday cottage we have ever stayed in. We will be booking again for next year, and probably many years to come. Five stars is not enough, for this gem..

Our third visit to this fantastic hidden gem of a cottage in a beautiful part of the country. Splendid location for exploring the coastline. Cottage is very well equipped to host 6 guests comfortably.
