This large, detached house is in an incredible location, just over 150 metres from the beach. It has lots of space for a group of friends or family and their four-legged friends, as well as a wonderful, enclosed garden, and a cosy wood burner. It’s close to Beadnell village’s amenities and in the perfect location for exploring the castles, towns and villages dotted along the coast.

The spacious house is bright and welcoming with a relaxed seaside feel and comfy interiors. The open-plan living space is ideal for spending time together, with a pretty lounge with a multi-fuel wood burner and TV for relaxing evenings in, a cottage-style kitchen with everything you need to cook tasty meals, and a dining table where you can enjoy them, next to French doors to the garden. There’s also a utility room and a handy cloakroom on the ground floor. It’s upstairs to bed in the four gorgeous bedrooms, the master king-size bedroom has a TV and an en-suite shower room, and there’s a second king-size and two twin rooms, as well as the family bathroom. Heading outside, take a drink and relax in the seating areas or laze on a sun lounger with a good book, then fire up the BBQ and dine alfresco on balmy evenings.

Wander to the sandy beach (just over 150 metres away) and into the village to pop into the pubs and shop or grab some fish and chips. Visit Bamburgh (5 miles), home to the historic Bamburgh Castle where there are legends and treasures to discover. Alnwick Castle is also worth visiting, perhaps best known as Hogwarts in the Harry Potter films; it has a fascinating history (13 miles). Explore Seahouses Harbour (2 miles) and book a boat trip to explore Longstone Lighthouse and the wildlife on the Farne Islands.

The house was very comfortable and warm during cold weather but we did have to do some initial cleaning on arrival. We didnt take the dog though it would have been ideal. The reason that I wont book again is because I am elderly and it will be my last trip to Northumberland. With just a few yards from the beautiful beach it couldnt have been bettRead moreer situated and from fhe property there were numerous places to visit within easy driving distance. We visited the pub twice and the meals were good but the fish and chips bar in Beadnell could not have been beaten,, delicious. The weather was very mixed and cold and we were a little unprepared though it didnt prevent us from enjoying our visit and we went hope with very happy memories. Bamburgh Castle and Alnwick gardens will stay long in our memories. Thank you for making our visit so comfortable . Hide

We loved our week at Driftwood cottage and our dogs were on cloud nine. Great dog proof big garden and a minute from the huge dog friendly beach. It was bliss. The lady in the catering van nearby is delightful too and the Craster arms does lovely food . We will be back I hope

We were very pleased to see new crockery since our last visit. It was disappointing that there was evidence of previous occupants which had not been cleared away. We would happily book again for the comfort and location.

Driftwood Cottage was very well equipped. The beds were comfortable and the outdoor seating area was a great sun trap. We even had a couple of wild rabbits in the garden, which was lovely! The cottage is about a 20 minute walk from Beadnell village centre which has a general store, a charming church and a couple of pubs. But the main reason for staRead moreying at Driftwood is the location. From the cottage to the beach is about 1 minute walk. Beadnell beach and bay is fabulous. Miles of flat, sandy beach. There is a small harbour and distant views of the coastline with a castle. There is parking for 2 or 3 cars at the front. Our dog loved his stay there and was exhausted every evening after his runs on the beach. Hide
