Close to the harbour, pubs, shops, and restaurants in the gorgeous fishing village of Seahouses and less than 1 mile from the long, sandy beach, this family-friendly property is a wonderful retreat. It is perfect to come back to after an exciting day spent exploring the Northumberland coast, to relax in the enclosed courtyard garden.

The cottage is bright and welcoming throughout with homely interiors and a fun nautical theme. Go inside to the lovely, light lounge where there’s plenty of space to relax on the leather sofas and enjoy a movie night with the decorative electric fire keeping you all cosy. Cook tasty meals in the gorgeous kitchen/diner, with a large dining table to enjoy memorable mealtimes together, and a door takes you out to the garden. Retire to bed in the three pretty bedrooms, a king-size, a double and a single, which all use the smart family bathroom, where you can indulge in a relaxing bubble bath or a refreshing shower. Make the most of warm days by spending time together in the enclosed courtyard garden, the perfect spot to sit with a drink and nibbles.

Head out from the cottage and explore the village; the harbour is just 200 metres away where you can take a boat ride to the Farne Islands and go for a seabird and seal cruise. Discover iconic Bamburgh Castle (4 miles), an impressive Norman fortress looking out over the North Sea, home of enchanting legends and historic treasures. Explore the stunning Northumberland wildlife at Annstead Dunes Nature Reserve (1 mile), Beadnell Bay (3 miles), and Embleton Bay (8.5 miles), and uncover the story of the local Victorian heroine who lived and worked at Longstone Lighthouse at the RNLI Grace Darling Museum (3.5 miles).

Excellent location close to pubs, shops and restaurants. When we arrived the kitchen was flooded from the washing machine. We turned off the water and tightened the fittings. After that, it worked fine. The shower wasn't usable, either scalding hot or cold but we just used the bath. The house is well kitted out and the complimentary tea and biscuRead moreits was welcomed. Overall, I'd describe it as an excellent property in an even better location, we would definitely use it again but you might want to check on the shower and washing machine ahead of other visitors.
