Explore the pretty towns and beaches of Northumberland from this stylish base in a peaceful spot perfect for couples, friends or families and their canine companions. The charming cottage is all on one level and has a gorgeous open-plan living space, two stunning bedrooms and a patio with a BBQ.

With comfy furnishings and stylish, contemporary interiors, you’ll feel right at home as soon as you arrive. Go into the open-plan living space, ideal for spending time together, with a kitchen/diner and lounge. Wake up and make fresh coffee and smoothies in the kitchen and cook up delicious meals in the evening to enjoy together at the dining table. Curl up on the sofa and watch your favourite series on the TV and spend the evening playing board games. Then head to bed for a great night’s sleep in the two pretty bedrooms, a super-king-size where you can watch TV in bed, and a twin. There’s also a family wet room upstairs with luxurious underfloor heating. On bright days, take your morning coffee out with you to the patio, accessed through the French doors in the dining area (one step down), fire up the BBQ and dine alfresco.

Get out and explore the local countryside on foot, head to the coast for beach walks, or go surfing and paddleboarding. Visit the impressive castle at Bamburgh (4.5 miles) to uncover its history, and wander around the pretty harbour at Seahouses (8 miles). Visit iconic Alnwick Castle (12 miles), perhaps best known as Hogwarts in the Harry Potter movies; it has a 950-year history to discover and hosts regular events. Nature lovers, hikers, cyclists, and climbers alike will want to explore the dramatic landscapes of Northumberland National Park (13.5 miles).

Cherry Blossom cottage is warm and cosy, beautifully decorated and well equipped. A generous welcome pack awaited our arrival which was appreciated. The weather was wild and windy during our visit and we experienced a very short power cut - we received a kind courtesy call from the team at Original Cottages to check-in with us. The cottage is set iRead moren an open plan complex of cottages with gravelled driveway, shared outdoor spaces and borders an adjoining farmers field with sheep. We chose Cherry Blossom for our recent trip because it was in exactly the right location for the activities we were planning, and it "looked nice". It turned out to be more than that, and we are already planning to come back. Great location, very quiet and tucked away but a stones throw from main road access. The cottage itself is delightful, veRead morery homely, spotless, and very well equipped to an exceptionally high standard. Absolutely everything you could want, and more, and everything about the place is high quality. It really did not feel like a holiday cottage, but like home. Great for a couple or family with small kids. Compact, but so well laid out, and we really appreciated the allocated parking. What a find. Hide

Great location for touring Northumberland and only a 10 to 15 minute drive from Bamburgh, Seahouses and Beadnell. Fabulous beaches for walking although people with mobility difficulties can face challenges accessing beach areas. Beadnell and Low Newton on Sea probably most accessible. Purdy Lodge is 2 mins in the car or within walking distance (so Read morelong as you are careful with traffic as no pavements). The Lodge offers nice meals and there is an attached 24hr cafe with a range of snacks and hot meals as well as breakfast. The cottages are very easy to find off the main A1 but are very quiet so no noise disturbance. Equipment and games help make evenings entertaining and we appreciated the very full welcome pack, the cleaning starter kit and toiletries. Hide

The property was beautiful, everything was very clean and of a good quality, welcome pack was lovely and the communication through text and e mail very good . Only one tiny thing was an enclosed garden would of been good so dogs can go out , but apart from that would highly recommend

Cherry Blossom cottage is in a lovely location only a few miles from Bamburgh Castle and the coastal town of Seahouses. The cottage was very comfortable and the staff at Holiday Cottages were very helpful. One day we returned to the cottage about 1700 and found that there was a power cut in the local area. I called Holiday Cottages and Tilly, the oRead moren call representative, called to check that everything was ok. When we found that we needed additional lighting she popped in about 30 minutes later and dropped off several torches to help us through the power cut. We appreciated her help. Hide
