This stone cottage is set in the centre of the village of Bamburgh, which is known for its imposing castle, spectacular coastline and walking trails. A museum dedicated to Grace Darling, who saved nine shipwrecked sailors and inspired the hymn Amazing Grace, is on your doorstep and a range of shops, pubs and restaurants are also less than half a mile from the cottage. The seaside resort and fishing port of Seahouses (4 miles) offers boat trips to Farne Islands, a group of islands teeming with birds and seal colonies. To the north, the Holy Island of Lindisfarne (16 miles) is renowned for its castle and ancient priory.

The cottage has been modernised but retains original features such as old beams and exposed stone walls. The lounge features a small table with two chairs as well as a wood burner set in an impressive brick fireplace; spend cosy evenings watching TV or choose from the selection of games, books and CDs. The kitchen is equipped with all you need to self-cater and includes a Welsh dresser set next to a dining table with seating for four people. The two bedrooms are on the first floor and comprise of a king-size bedroom with fantastic views of the castle from a window seat and a twin bedroom that can be made up into a super-king-size bed on request. A modern bathroom features a shower over the bath.

The property does not have a garden but backs onto Castle Green, which features a children’s play area, tennis courts and a cricket ground.

We had a fab week staying here - the cottage is lovely and in a great location. Despite the listing details there ARE towels provided but weirdly no kitchen cleaning materials (eg surface spray and washing up liquid) which I would expect to find in a holiday rental so take your own! The house is heated via storage heaters and electric heaters whichRead more were absolutely fine - didnt miss central heating at all. Bed was comfy and shower was great. If I was ever headed back to Bamburgh I would look to book again. Hide

We love this cottage and would book again. Disappointed that a few basics werent there on arrival and when they were provided they were in very small quantities. A really small tube of washing up liquid and no replacement bin bags so we couldnt put the bins out during our stay. We were advised to put linen in clear bags at end of the stay but none Read morewere provided. Would recommend proper quantities of cleaning products and bin bags. We had a fabulous time nonetheless and really love the cottage. Hide
