This one-bedroom cottage situated in the delightful fishing village of Seahouses is a good choice for a solo traveller or couple plus one dog looking for a peaceful seaside hideaway. Located in a fantastic setting, just 45 metres from the harbour wall, you can listen to the sound of the waves from the bedroom.
Originally a fisherman’s cottage, this compact property has been converted into a one-storey, light-drenched space. After a day on the beach, kick off sandy shoes in the porch then step through to the cheerful open-plan living area. Homely decor, artwork on the walls, and a good-sized sofa make this a lovely room to unwind in. When it’s time to eat, you’ll find a small but neat kitchen running along one wall with all the modern appliances you’ll need for a comfortable stay. Serve up at the intimate drop-down dining table or, if the weather is good, step outside and eat at the picnic table in the courtyard. Back inside, unpack your things in the tranquil bedroom or sink into the stylish double bed. With the sound of the sea in the distance, you’ll soon be lulled into a restful sleep. Outside there’s a neat courtyard dotted with picnic tables, that’s shared with the neighbouring properties.
Situated within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, enjoy fabulous harbour views just 45 metres from the property, or for a walk on the beach with Fido, head to lovely Seahouses Beach (1 mile). Annstead Beach (1 mile) is also worth a visit and is backed by dunes that are teeming with wildlife. Alternatively, head to Seahouses Harbour and hop on a boat to the Farne Islands where you can spend the day spotting seabirds and seals.
