Within walking distance, you’ll find two welcoming village pubs and a useful village shop. The sweeping sands of Cheswick Beach and Goswick Beach are just a short drive away, while Bamburgh’s iconic castle and the Holy Island of Lindisfarne offer memorable day trips full of history, nature, and breathtaking views. Inside, the cottage is warm and welcoming from the moment you step into the handy porch — a useful space for leaving coats, boots, or beach gear after a day out exploring. From the porch, you move into the spacious lounge, where two leather sofas, a wood-burning stove, and an upright piano create a cosy place to relax. A step down leads to the well-equipped kitchen, ideal for preparing meals with local produce, and a sunny conservatory with a dining table and double doors opening onto the courtyard. A steep, narrow staircase leads to the attic room, a cosy space with a vaulted ceiling and Velux windows, ideal for reading, games, or relaxing. There’s also a low-level double bed that’s perfect for children or teenagers, along with a guitar available for guests to enjoy during their stay.

Outside, the west-facing courtyard garden is fully enclosed and ideal for soaking up the afternoon sun, with garden furniture, a barbecue, and secure storage for bikes and outdoor gear.

Parts of the Cottage has obviously been renovated which were fine, good shower, loads of hot water etc but main badroom very dated furniture from 50s/60s. Double bedroom had parts had wallpaper peeling of ceilings, terrible old messy doors, damp on walls, poorly painted dirty skirting and door frames, kitchen unit had a drawer missing which we founRead mored and with a fair bit of effort, got back into position. After driving there from a long distance away we were greeted with a place unmaid as previous renters had left it. Due to being on the road we missed a call from owners saying their cleaners were delayed. When they arrived they had changed the beds and hoovered and were gone in fifteen miutes. My wife spent nearly a day cleaning and disinfecting worktops, cooker , wiping down old dirt off skirting boards that had been there months. Also getting rid of Dog Hair. The conservatory was great but again dirty as nobody has cleaned above eye level in months. The place needs serious updating by painters and decorators. The best thing a very good large TV and location for shop selling home made produce. This place needs a lot of Love.. Hide

We had a truly lovely stay at this cottage and felt at home from the moment we arrived. It is exceptionally well equipped, and it is obvious that the owners have put a great deal of thought and care into every detail to make guests feel welcome. We were especially touched by the thoughtful gift Jon and Fiona left for us, which was such a kind and gRead moreenerous gesture. The facilities were excellent, with the piano and keyboard being a particularly lovely addition, and the furniture was cosy and well chosen, making it very easy to relax and settle in. The location was ideal for exploring the area, yet the cottage itself felt ideally peaceful and tucked away a perfect place to unwind. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would be more than pleased to return. Hide
