Property code: OC-10749

Stroll down to the beautiful beach or over to the historic castle from this enticing cottage at Bamburgh. Sleeping eight guests, the four-bedroom retreat nestles beside the dunes in this impressive Northumberland setting. Ideal for coastal walks, the dog-friendly, single-storey hideaway has a sizeable garden, plus a wood burner and an open fire for cosy nights in.

Take a step up into this single-storey haven to find inviting accommodation. Head into the lounge to settle back on the comfortable seating in front of a crackling open fire. Find a film on the Smart TV or simply chat together. Wander through to the kitchen/diner to make delicious meals, as well as fresh juice and coffee. Stoke up the wood burner in here during the colder months so it throws out a warming glow as you dine together. Pull open the bi-folding doors in the spring and summer. The airy conservatory, with its soft seating, is also a lovely place to gather. When you are ready to turn in for the night, make your way through to one of the beautiful bedrooms. These include a double, with an en-suite shower room that has a step up into the shower, a king-size and two twins. There is also a family shower room, accessed by taking a step up, and a family bathroom. Let the children and pets run free across the generous lawn in the garden while you relax with a drink on the patio or grill local produce on the BBQ. Wash sandy feet and paws under the outside tap.

Head straight out over the dunes to the beach from a gate in the cottage’s garden. Visit Bamburgh Castle, which is believed to date back to at least AD 547. Venture into Seahouses, 4 miles away, to take a boat trip out to sea.

  • 4 bedrooms - 1 king-size, 1 double, 2 twins
  • 3 bathrooms - 1 with a bath, hand-held shower, separate shower and WC, 1 shower room with a WC, 1 en-suite shower room with a WC

This is a lovely spacious cottage which has a very well equipped kitchen and very comfortable lounge and conservatory . Very comfortable beds with lovely bed linen. The house was very warm and cosy. The path from the garden leads across the sand dunes on to the beach but an easier route for those less able is down the front path to the free car paRead morerk at the bottom. WE had a lovely stay and the children very much enjoyed the selection of indoor and out toys. Hide

The cottage is in a splendid location, ideal for dog walks on the beach and strolls to the wonderful (and dog-friendly) Lord Crewe for dinner. The cottage is well-equipped and the conservatory is a god-send in our variable weather!

Lovely cottage set in the dunes, one minute's walk from the water one way and the castle the other. Spacious enclosed garden. Ideal for family plus or minus the dog holidays.

Fabulously located cottage in Bamburgh and particularly wonderful for families. The cottage is very nicely furnished though the beds are very tired and perhaps even exhausted.

A fabulous location but you do need to be able bodied to use the dune access or walk round to the beach. One of our party had accessibility requirements and so we still ended up taking a car to the nearby car park to see the beach. Lots of space for 8 to be together (or apart as needed). A couple of the bedrooms are quite far from bathrooms but weRead more made this work for our group. Hide

Stunning location in a lovely village. Beach literally 2 minutes away. Secure garden and good conservatory. Plenty of room but could be tight for 8 adults ( we were 6 adults) good quality bedding and towels and cosy and warm in the cold weather.

This is a wonderful place to stay if you like to walk beach's with your dogs, it's location is perfect for easy access to the beach, but its incredibly quiet and sheltered. The conservatory makes the cottage as its very warm and sunny when the weather is good, but a perfect retreat when it's raining and the lounge is warm and cosy in the evenings. We have stayed in Bamburgh eight times now and Coastguard Cottage is by far the best place to stay although the cost per week is reflective of that. I like the big communal rooms, high ceilings, comfortable beds and pillows and lots of light.
