Whisk your loved one away on an adventure to Northumberland National Park and you’ll be in awe of the natural beauty of this area, particularly at night when the Dark Sky Reserve truly comes into its own as the stars light up the sky. This quirky property is a fantastic base from which to explore, boasting a glass summer house which can be enjoyed all year round, and an intimate mezzanine bedroom for a good night’s rest.

Welcoming you into the property is the compact and cosy open-plan living room/kitchen/diner which is perfect for two. Warm hues of wood brighten the area, and the tall ceilings help to make it feel more spacious. One corner is a dedicated kitchen, ensuring you have everything you need to fix up snacks and meals at all times of the day, whilst another corner offers a lovely dining nook with a table and two chairs where you can share stories over dinner. Take the staircase up to the mezzanine floor and you’ll find the fairytale-esque bedroom furnished with a double bed and a pretty skylight which is perfect for stargazing. The bedroom boasts direct access to the garden which envelops the property, filled with mature plant life which comes to life with a flourish of colour during the summer months.

For a leisurely afternoon out, head to the market town of Rothbury (9 miles) to peruse the local wares and stop off for a bite to eat at one of the pubs or restaurants. We were welcomed by the owner, cup of tea, biscuits and a grand tour of the property. Most unexpected but great. Beats finding the keys under the mat. Thank you we had a great stay.

A cosy cottage away from the road in a lovely location which is ideal for walking or trips to the coast. Our host was friendly and welcoming. The property was clean, comfortable and tastefully decorated. We enjoyed using the 'sitootie' (garden room) overlooking the beautiful garden with views of the Drake Stone.
