This quirky coach house located between Northumberland National Park and the North Pennines AONB is a fantastic location from which to explore the natural scenery of these areas, be it on foot or by bike. A comfortable sofa and armchairs ensure a spot for all members of the family to sit back and enjoy the evening entertainment on the TV, whilst the dining table is a perfect spot to gather together to tuck into a home-cooked feast. The kitchen itself has everything you’ll need to get creative with your cooking, whether it’s with a hearty breakfast or a light picnic to take on your adventures. Upstairs are the three bedrooms, each neutrally styled with a double, a twin and a single room all providing flexibility in the sleeping arrangements. There is also a family bathroom with a shower over the bath that’s shared by all bedrooms. The garden area features a shared patio with seating and a BBQ for the summer months, whilst the enclosed woodland next door is a perfect spot for walking your dogs.
Lovers of history will be thrilled with the selection of sites to visit locally, including the Roman forts of Housesteads (8 miles) and Thirlwall Castle (4 miles). For an active adventure, Talkin Tarn Country Park (14 miles) has something for all the family, from wooded walking trails to the lakeside recreation area where a number of water sports are on offer. Once you’re finished with your activities, the on-site tea room has plenty of treats to refuel with before heading home.
