The compact kitchen runs along one wall, with a dining area opposite, and a glass door framed by an original stone archway that opens onto the garden. Upstairs are a family bathroom and three simply furnished bedrooms. These comprise a double, a single and a double bunk with a single bed above. Outside, enjoy the rural setting from a shared, paved and enclosed garden with picnic benches and a BBQ available on request. Your pets can also enjoy a romp in their own enclosed area of woodland.

Get into your stride with the Haltwhistle Reiver Trail that takes you on a tour around this historic border town beside the River Tyne. Then head for the famous Hadrian’s Wall landmarks of Housesteads, the most complete Roman fort in Britain, and Vindolanda, both within 6 miles. Take to the saddle at the nearby Pony Trekking Centre. Set on a working hill farm, it caters for all abilities. Haltwhistle has a great range of independent shops and eateries, along with an excellent leisure centre, complete with an outdoor heated pool.
