This former miller’s cottage in the heart of the Northumberland National Park is ideal for a family or friends looking for a restful holiday. The property has beautiful social spaces to relax and spend quality time together. Explore the beautiful College Valley, a remote valley comprising 12,000 acres of wild, rugged, and bio-diverse terrain. There are four challenging hillfort trails in the valley for walkers who seek unspoilt and natural landscapes with spectacular scenery. The ancient market town of Wooler is 8 miles away, where you will find restaurants, shops, and a small swimming pool.

This charming two-storey stone cottage provides a tranquil ambience in which to relax. Downstairs, you’ll find a spacious lounge featuring exposed wooden beams, a polished timber floor, and a wood burner. Sit back on the comfortable seating in your stylish surroundings and unwind. The large kitchen has all you need to cook a celebratory meal or some family favourites, which you can share in the dining area with a window looking out over the gorgeous views. There is a downstairs bathroom. Upstairs has low ceilings and two country-style bedrooms with beamed ceilings - a king-size and a twin. French windows from the lounge lead to a large, enclosed garden. Relax on the furniture on the stone patio, fire up the BBQ, and dine alfresco on warm evenings while relishing this back-to-nature destination.

Discover the delightful Ford and Etal Estates, 9.5 miles away, where you can ride a steam train, stroke a heavy horse, and discover a Victorian schoolroom. Having stayed at the property previously, I knew pretty much what to expect so I was fairly confident that the cottage would still be of a certain standard - which indeed it was. Fantastic stay, love it and as it was previously in our family for over 30 years amazing to see and enjoy the transformation. Just a very small thing, sugar! - we forgot ours and you had some tea's and coffee's but there was no sugar?

We came looking for peace and tranquillity and certainly found it in an all too short stay. Lets hope the next time is longer. Thank you.

As usual, so welcoming when we arrived (thanks to all concerned). Saw wild goats, adders, slowworms, curlews, heard cuckoo, larks, lapwings, deer. Bees providing constant background hum. So good to listen to the soundscape.

Lower score on quality and comfort as downstairs bathroom smells very damp all time. Rest of property very good. Beds and bed linen very comfortable. Lovely cottage overall.
