For those seeking a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of city life, this cosy cottage, and its surrounding area promise an idyllic retreat where relaxation and exploration go hand in hand. Located to the southwest of Warkworth (4.4 miles) with its medieval Castle, meandering river walks, village pubs, restaurants, and stunning beach, and Amble (5.1 miles) with its bustling harbour, seafood restaurants, quirky shops, and circular pier walk on the Northumberland coastline. Explore Druridge Bay Country Park and the sandy beach over the dunes. Visit Hauxley’s wonderful Wildlife Discovery Centre for red squirrels and much more with a café for warm drinks and treats. Discover Alnwick Castle and fabulous Gardens (9.4 miles) and head to Alnmouth to fly kites on the beach.

Enter the cottage door to find the bright, open-plan kitchen/dining space with plenty of hanging space for your outdoor coats and a seat, perfect for putting on your walking boots. The contemporary kitchen is fully equipped and stocked with attractive crockery so the family can cook and enjoy preparing a range of meals. Coffee enthusiasts will appreciate the coffee machine and can enjoy sitting at the kitchen island for sociable meals together. You can plan your holiday walks and adventures and use the Bluetooth speaker for your favourite tunes. The useful laundry room is just off the kitchen, the ideal place to dry your clothes off, along with a separate WC. After dinner, head through to the cottage’s sitting room to unwind on the comfortable seating in front of the wood burner. Watch a movie on the Smart TV or listen to your favourite music. The two calm and restful bedrooms are on the first floor, each offering wonderful views across the garden to the neighbouring fields and woodland. The king-size room has closet space and an en-suite shower room. The pretty twin bedroom has open hanging space and a chest of drawers for your things. The delightful family bathroom completes the accommodation.

Outside, to the front of the property, there is a generous lawned garden and a gravelled patio area with garden furniture you can place wherever you prefer. The garden is fenced and has a gate, though spaces between the post and rails mean it is not fully enclosed. You have access to a large shed to securely store bikes and equipment.

Recently renovated cottage completed to a very high standard and set in a quiet rural location. Friendly owners live on the adjacent farm which incorporates their brewery. Food and beer tasting is available Friday and Saturday in the converted barn, again all really well executed and organised but not intrusive to the cottage in anyway. Very enjoyaRead moreble stay. A lovely, well equipped and comfortable clean property. Easy access to the coast yet in a nice quiet rural location. It was an unexpected bonus to find the microbrewery tap room at the farm next door, which is open twice a week. We enjoyed a very relaxing break with our dog away from all the fireworks!
