Enjoy a stylish and romantic couples’ getaway in this charming period cottage, tucked away down a quiet lane in the heart of bustling Morpeth. This chic and sophisticated property is an excellent choice for couples or solo adventurers looking for easy access to the shops, eateries, and historic and cultural attractions of this ancient market town. Exuding contemporary style, this gorgeous abode is a welcoming home to return to after a day’s exploring.

Light and spacious throughout, this two-storey cottage has been lovingly refurbished with a designer’s eye for detail. Original features such as the brick fireplace and polished wooden floors are complemented with pops of colour and pattern, and lots of thoughtful touches. The lounge is a haven of tranquillity with comfortable sofas and a wood-burner-effect electric fire, ideal for cosy nights at home. Next door, the bold, contemporary kitchen is a joy to prepare food in with its cheerful colour and cute breakfast bar. Upstairs, slip under the covers of the elegant king-size bed for a rejuvenating night’s sleep, before a refreshing shower in the en suite sets you up for another day of adventure.

A shared patio outside gives you space to store bikes, while the riverside and wooden paths of Carlisle Park offer a peaceful place to walk nearby. Stock up on fresh produce at the weekly Wednesday market or head out to explore the ruins of Morpeth Castle and St Mary’s Church. Venture north to Alnwick (20 miles) to explore the magical castle – which Harry Potter fans will recognise as Hogwarts – and gardens. Beach lovers shouldn’t miss the dreamy beach at Cresswell (10 miles), regarded as one of the best in Northumberland.

The cottage was clean, comfortable and very well appointed with quality bed linen and towels. Everything you could need for your holiday was provided, the body care products were exceptionally nice. The attention to detail was first class. Parking wasn't too much of an issue, as we made good use of the parking permit, parking outside every day. EasRead morey level access to the local shops, bars and restaurants. Thank you for our enjoyable stay, would recommend the cottage. Hide
