Full of charm and character, this cottage has two bedrooms and sleeps up to four people. It’s perfect for a small family or group of friends happy to share, while its location is exceptionally peaceful thanks to being set within 600 acres of private woods and farmland. Walks and cycling trails are easily accessible here, and the city of Newcastle can provide any required urban hit, being just 24 miles away.
Inside, you’ll go through the pretty front door into the cottage which is full of quirks. You can stow away your outerwear in the hallway before going through to the elegantly decorated lounge with dual-aspect windows. It also has French doors so this room is flooded with light even on dreary days. You can relax in front of the wood burner or TV on the room’s comfortable sofa. Through the kitchen, you’ll find a dining area and everything you need to cater while on holiday. There’s also a handy utility room to keep laundry from view. Finally on this floor, there’s a bathroom and a king-size bedroom which benefits from garden views. Upstairs, there’s a separate WC and a landing with a daybed which offers another sleeping space for a child. Through an arched doorway, you’ll come to a super-king-size bedroom with more views over the garden. To access the garden, which has a patio, sun loungers and a picnic table, you can go through the lounge’s French doors.
The immediate area has so much to offer, so even if you don’t leave the grounds, you can have a great break. However, you could also head to the Derwent Valley or simply walk to the local pub and restaurant, set just over a mile away. Many guests head to the North Pennines as it’s an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and is less than 10 miles away.
