Comfortable, clean, welcoming, spacious, peaceful, warm, relaxing... Grateful for a much needed, quiet few days with family, in a truly lovely setting. Everything we needed was to hand. Thoughtful welcome basket on arrival, thank you! Would stay again.

Our stay at School House was really enjoyable and we had a fantastic time exploring the surrounding countryside which is beautiful. The property itself has plenty of room, and is both comfy and well maintained. We would definitely come back.

Spacious house, gorgeous location with walks on the doorstep. On the main road but we also didn't notice it much when in the house.

The house is beautiful and we had a lovely week. It's very spacious and good value for money. The location is fabulous - plenty to do within about half an hour by car, and an incredible amount of walking direct from the house. It's a beautiful area. I was a bit concerned there might be a lot of road noise, but we really didn't notice it. Brilliant cottage, furnished and decorated to a high standard. Lounge and bedrooms were very comfortable. Garden was lovely and secure enough for our two dogs, who loved watching the sheep and lambs. The location was great for exploring Hadrians Wall, North Pennines and Lakes. We enjoyed being able to walk from the cottage door along the South TyneRead moreside Railway and had a really lovely ride on the railway from Alston to Slaggyford. Will definitely return. Hide

House was warm and comfortable. Plenty of space for 5 of us. Owner was very helpful when we couldn't operate the central heating system.
