A warm and welcoming cottage which can sleep up to four people in two bedrooms. With feature stone walls and a warming wood burner, it’s a real home away from home - complete with a pretty enclosed garden overlooked by some of Northumberland’s rolling countryside. Guests always enjoy being within easy access of the village Thropton.
Inside, the stone cottage is light and airy with a lounge and diner featuring that wood burner in an inglenook fireplace. It offers a real focus point and provides a place to unwind by relaxing on the sofa to watch TV. You can also sit at the dining table to plan your next day’s activities, or catch up with the rest of your group over meal times. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare those meals, while the window has a view of the garden and hillside beyond. Upstairs are two bedrooms both benefiting from an en-suite shower room with WC. One is a spacious king-size bedroom with yet more views of the hills. It has a daybed too for reading or for a young child. The second bedroom has a double. Outside, access to the enclosed rear garden is via a small courtyard (which belongs to neighbouring property) with a private bike store. The lawned garden has a patio area at the far end with a table and seating.
While Thropton offers views of heather-clad hills as well as being close to the coast, Rothbury is also a popular town that is just 2 miles away from the cottage. Thropton itself has pubs and a shop, while Rothbury has even more shops, pubs, a golf course and an array of walking and cycling routes. Many guests choose to head into the Simonside hills for some of the UK’s most beautiful scenery.
