Located at the northern brink of the Northumberland National Park, this farmhouse property is within effortless reach of an endless selection of fantastic waymarked walking routes, the stunning scenery of Scottish Borders towns and the dramatic seascapes of the Northumberland Coast AONB. This single-storey accommodation happily hosts four guests and up to three dogs making it the perfect selection for an outdoorsy family or adventure-ready group of friends to rest, recharge and enjoy one another's company before heading out on daily excursions in the surrounding areas.

Fully decked out for you to make the most of your stay, we can assure you that your time here will be spent in comfort. Step up into the open-plan living space to be greeted by underfloor heating, a delight for cold toes in the winter months. A utility room presents an abundance of space to store wet coats and muddy boots – don’t forget to use the outdoor tap to clean off paws or wellies before heading inside. Once you’ve slipped into something more comfortable, you can spend your night in the open-plan living space or out on the decking. The patio space is furnished for al fresco drinks and dining with views of Northumberland all around you, a wonderful way to end a day before heading off to one of two bedrooms.

Stay well connected when staying here, jumping in the car to spend time in the tourist hubs of Kelso (9 miles), Berwick-upon-Tweed (17 miles) or the Northumberland Coast (18 miles). Step out late at night to discover the unrivalled night skies of the neighbouring Northumberland National Park (1.5 miles), enjoying an evening stroll with stars twinkling up above. Alternatively, head for daytime adventures in the fantastic Cheviot Hills (13.5 miles), stopping off in a Town Yetholm pub on the route home (5 miles).

A great property just a mile or two south of the Scottish borders and just north of the Northumberland National Park, lots of pleasant villages to visit nearby as well as kielder and all it has to offer. Completely enclosed for dogs or small children to play safely. We had a lovely stay and were very comfortable in the property. A beautiful, well presented modern cottage in a very quiet area. It was very clean on arrival. We have loved our stay here despite the bad weather. The Bothy is on the side of the road and you do hear the cars go by but the road is so quiet that it does not bother you. A welcome dog walk is just across the road. A fabulous cottage for anyone wishing to stay in a remote location, away from everything. Extremely comfortable and clean, and the owner has provided everything to ensure a fantastic stay. What we particularly enjoyed was the spaciousness and quietness, not forgetting the far extending views from the windows. The Bothy is a real getaway experience, the location, views, skies and wildlife make it really special, the accommodation is really well presented and spacious , with the added bonus of all being on a single level. Sue is a great host. We had a really wonderful time, we will recommend and would love to return.

Beautiful cottage, comfortable, quiet. Nice to watch farmers harvesting their crops round about. Good location for visiting tourist attractions around the area. We had 3 dogs with us and it was nice to open doors and let them out without worry of them escaping. Lovely.

We had such a peaceful & relaxing time at the Bothy. It was perfectly situated with stunning views and wildlife. We loved watching the Hare's and Barn owl on an evening. The weather wasn't particularly good but that did not spoil anything. The Bothy was spotlessly clean and very comfortable especially the Super king size bed. This lovely cottage is perfectly situated for exploring Northumberland and The Borders. It is Beautifully presented and little extras including fresh flowers and a welcome pack are a lovely touch. Sue, the host, is very welcoming and helpful. Would highly recommend this cottage for an idyllic break.

A lovely cottage which was well equipped and cozy. It is set in a quiet location, although on the side of a road it is not very busy and did not affect us at all. The location is perfect for stargazing and having no close neighbours meant you was not overlooked at all. This Cottage is just lovely & the surroundings are beautiful. The accommodation was new, rustic, clean, very practical & warm. Its the best self catering accommodation weve stayed in! Good value for money peak season too! We were 4 adults and 3 dogs and there was ample space for us all. Close to the Scottish boarder with plenty to do close by. Its Read morea decent 40 min drive minimum to most coastal places but good if youre happy to be close to Scotland too, we even visited Edinburgh! Many thanks Hide

Lovely cottage in a great location. It was tricky with no WiFi but if you have 4g it's fine. Vodafone was the best for this. Very comfortable bed which was nice. Very quiet area too. Highly recommend and we will return.

The property has been fitted out to a high specification and is beautiful, clean and comfortable. Surrounded by farmland it has some spectacular views with a lovely decking area ideal for sitting and watching the sun go down. Would definitely recommend a visit!

A very lovely cottage in beautiful surroundings. The cottage was ideal for us as it was all on one level. Only a couple of steps to the 3 access points, but there is no handrail so we had to be careful of my 92 year old mother. The furnishings were beautiful. Fantastic top quality place, well situated for many things, coast, hills, towns, etc. Only 15 minutes from many pubs and restaurants. Loads of facilities in Coldstream. Walking in College Valley is fantastic. Edinburgh and Kielder are near enough for day trips. Ability to charge an EV makes staying a breeze. Would stay here again.

One of the best holiday cottages we have ever stayed in. The renovation itself is excellent, the cottage was everything we could have wished for, warm and welcoming, clean and spacious and the most comfortable bed ever. Ideal base to explore both Northumberland and The Borders. Will definitely be booking another stay here.
