Detached, stone-built cottage for four, set on a working farm with wonderful sea views, close to the beach and just a short drive to Berwick-upon-Tweed. Families and couples will love this.

This charming farmhouse cottage, tucked away amongst the Northumberland countryside is ideal for friends or a family who want to explore what the area has to offer. With the best of coast and country close by, you can immerse yourselves in rural tranquillity or enjoy walks on the stunning quiet beaches. With something for everyone, Northumberland boasts history, natural beauty and wildlife. You can even take a trip over the border to Scotland, or perhaps take a train into the capital, Edinburgh.

Light and airy, this delightful cottage has been beautifully renovated to create a cosy, contemporary, country-cottage feel throughout. Neutral tones allow light to bounce around, whilst the occasional piece of traditional furniture adds character. On entering, leave your coats and shoes in the porch before stepping into the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. Here, you can spend quality time together, whether you’re cooking, eating or lounging, whilst the wood burner adds comfort on colder evenings. Upstairs, there are three bedrooms and a family bathroom. A small lawn to the front of the house is a lovely spot for alfresco dining or take advantage of the dark skies and watch for shooting stars.

Only 3.5 miles from the coastal town of Berwick-Upon-Tweed, where you can follow its impressive castle walls whilst soaking up the far-reaching sea views. The Northumberland Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty lies to the south and boasts 30 miles of sandy beaches waiting to be discovered, including Cocklawburn Beach (1.2 miles). Teeming with history, the county boasts more castles than any other in England, including Lindisfarne (12 miles), Bamburgh (18 miles) and Alnwick (29 miles), which all have something different to offer. If you’re a keen wildlife-spotter, the opportunities are endless including seal-spotting on Lindisfarne or a boat trip to the Farne Islands from Seahouses (22 miles) where puffins congregate in droves.

What a lovely property - comfortable and in a great location with lots to do even at this time of year. The kitchen was well equipped and there was no chance of being cold with the heating on (the basket of logs was hardly touched). The bedrooms were comfortable. Wonderful views of the coast and out to Lindisfarne and Bamburgh. We were greeted each morning with hares and deer in the neighbouring cornfield. It was so lovely and quiet and we were able to enjoy the dark skies of this part of Northumberland. Lots to see and do in the surrounding area.

Clean, comfortable with a lovely view of the sea from the dining table. Plenty to do in the area. Beautiful views and wonderful sea view from the sitting room window. We enjoyed waking up to the sight of the hares play jumping outside our bedroom window. The owner was very friendly and very helpful. Comfortable beds and fresh linen. Beach is an easy short drive. Really loved our stay and would definitely go again.

This cottage has a marvellous view over the sea towards Holy Island and Bamburgh. The kitchen is well equipped and the appliances are excellent. Storage in the bedrooms is lacking and all the furniture is a little past its best. Please be careful of the dangerous entrance to the farm as there is a blind 90 degree bend.
