Stay in the Dark Skies territory of Kielder Water and Forest Park in this cosy cottage sleeping four guests. The pretty cottage is located next to forest walks, cycle routes and opposite the striking Kielder Castle. You’ll never be far away from fantastic activities and, once you’re done exploring, you can admire the magnificent sky above you from the enclosed garden.

The inviting single-storey cottage is tastefully decorated using wood throughout. Spend an evening settled in front of the warming wood burner and enjoy the latest Netflix series in the comfortable living room. Just off the lounge is a sunroom which overlooks the garden and has a dining table and chairs to enjoy sociable meals together. The well-equipped kitchen has everything you need for your stay and the bedrooms are comfortable, light and airy. You’ll also find complimentary toiletries in the bathrooms. When the day is done, choose between a king-size master room and a second twin room. Outside is an enclosed garden patio with furniture perfect for alfresco dining.

Wildlife is in abundance in this area, with red squirrels, a variety of birds and an elusive Pine Marten who is partial to a jam sandwich (chopped up into small squares) regularly visiting the garden. There are plenty of activities to do in Kielder and the surrounding forest park. Enjoy long hikes, canoe on the reservoir, go fishing, play golf or hop on your bike and explore on two wheels. Visit the spectacular Kielder Observatory (2.5 miles) and admire the Milky Way above while learning all about astronomy. Further afield, you can visit the sandy beaches of the Northumberland coastline or go waterfall hunting in nearby Bellingham (19 miles).

We had a really lovely stay at Kielder cottage with our Labrador Sophie. Cottage was very comfortable and well equipped and in such a peaceful and tranquil spot. Nice touch leaving wine, tea, coffee, biscuits and some treats for Sophie. Walks into the forest from just outside the door. We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful cottage and were sad to leave. It has everything you need and more and it is warm, cosy and gorgeous, especially with the wood burner going. We particularly loved watching the birds and red squirrels in the garden, whist chilling with a glass of wine. It is a good idea to bring provisions, as there are no sRead morehops nearby. Stunning cottage, exactly as the pictures show. Clean well decorated and wonderfully comfortable. Excellent provision of kitchen utensils and they even left treats for the dog. Location was great for getting to all of the walking trails and it was lovely to come back to a cosy cottage after a day out walking. We had a fab New Year break here. The cottage was warm and cosy, beautifully furnished, plus the added bonus of Christmas decorations was a lovely touch. It is a really quiet location which is just what we wanted with walks from the doorstep. The cottage was beautiful, the directions given were exact. The property was warm spotlessly clean and tidy. The courtyard garden although slightly small had all types of birds and red squirrels every day. You would need to arrive with food and drink as the nearest shop was 15 miles away,a local post in the village but never saw it open. Comfortable & modern cottage opposite the castle so easy to find. Cottage had everything we needed & more. Great variety of birds visit the garden along with red squirrels. Quiet & peaceful. Organised supermarket delivery as quite remote. Enjoyed our stay.

Lovely cottage in the quiet village of Kielder. Clean, very well equipped and nicely furnished. Enclosed garden great for our dog. Nearest grocery shop (Co-op) in Bellingham which took about 30 minutes to get there. I had read another review on the cottage that said they had arranged a Tesco food delivery so we followed their advice- so pleased we Read moredid. Beautiful walks in the forest. However took 1.5 hours to get to beaches. Great beach at Cresswell for dogs. Nice cafe there too. Hide

This cottage is lovely, attractively decorated, well appointed & equipped. It is very quiet, and the birds and red squirrels in the garden are an absolute treat. It is a long way from any indoor activities, for those inevitable wet, wet, wet days but there is plenty of walking, cycling and wildlife pursuits to be had. The cottage is lovely and very well equipped. The location is great and there are plenty of trails from the front door. There is a shop for essentials at the petrol station. The only downside is that the pub close by does not serve food and so you need to drive somewhere if you want to eat out.

Beautiful cottage, wonderfully decorated and laid out. Loved the underfloor heating in the garden room whilst relaxing watching the wildlife in the garden. A lovely cottage in an amazing location. The welcome pack for both human and dog guests was a thoughtful touch. Well equipped kitchen so if you do cook, as we did everything is there for you. The birds and red squirrels visiting the garden were wonderful and a joy to watch.

We had a great stay in this cottage over the Christmas period - it really is a super property in a stunning location. There are so many beautiful walks from the door and we also enjoyed an evening trip to the Kielder Observatory which is very close by and highly recommended. The property was immaculate for our arrival and we would love to return.

Fabulous cottage in a fabulous location. The owners really have thought of everything you could possibly want whilst youre away. Beautifully decorated and equipped. The owner, Andrea, had thought of everything you could need to make the stay comfortable and hassle free - including washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets and detergents. The welcome pack was well thought out and included our four legged friend. A problem with the fridge was resolved quickRead morely, it didn't impact our holiday and Andrea offered a small reduction to the rental cost without me asking.
