Stay in the Dark Skies territory of Kielder Water and Forest Park in this cosy cottage sleeping four guests. The pretty cottage is located next to forest walks, cycle routes and opposite the striking Kielder Castle. You’ll never be far away from fantastic activities and, once you’re done exploring, you can admire the magnificent sky above you from the enclosed garden.
The inviting single-storey cottage is tastefully decorated using wood throughout. Spend an evening settled in front of the warming wood burner and enjoy the latest Netflix series in the comfortable living room. Just off the lounge is a sunroom which overlooks the garden and has a dining table and chairs to enjoy sociable meals together. The well-equipped kitchen has everything you need for your stay and the bedrooms are comfortable, light and airy. You’ll also find complimentary toiletries in the bathrooms. When the day is done, choose between a king-size master room and a second twin room. Outside is an enclosed garden patio with furniture perfect for alfresco dining.
Wildlife is in abundance in this area, with red squirrels, a variety of birds and an elusive Pine Marten who is partial to a jam sandwich (chopped up into small squares) regularly visiting the garden. There are plenty of activities to do in Kielder and the surrounding forest park. Enjoy long hikes, canoe on the reservoir, go fishing, play golf or hop on your bike and explore on two wheels. Visit the spectacular Kielder Observatory (2.5 miles) and admire the Milky Way above while learning all about astronomy. Further afield, you can visit the sandy beaches of the Northumberland coastline or go waterfall hunting in nearby Bellingham (19 miles).
