Set in the peaceful village of East Ord, just two miles from the historic border town of Berwick-upon-Tweed, Braefoot offers a relaxed base for exploring Northumberland’s stunning coast and countryside. The village itself sits on the south bank of the River Tweed and is home to a traditional village green and a gently babbling brook—perfect for a quiet stroll and a taste of village charm. The surrounding area is rich with things to see and do. Enjoy coastal walks, dolphin spotting, salmon fishing, or a scenic river boat trip. Tee off at nearby golf courses, visit one of five beautiful beaches close to hand, or explore Berwick’s cobbled streets, independent shops, welcoming pubs and restaurants. For day trips, head to the iconic castles at Bamburgh and Alnwick, wander through the magical Alnwick Garden, or take a boat to the wildlife-rich Farne Islands. Or, when the tide allows, cross the causeway to Holy Island for a truly memorable adventure.

A path leads from Braefoot’s enclosed front garden to the door, where you’ll step into a bright and welcoming interior. The lounge is a lovely place to unwind, complete with a wood burner, comfortable seating, and Smart TV. A small step leads up from the lounge to the hallway, where you’ll find the kitchen overlooking the private courtyard patio. It’s well equipped with an electric oven, gas hob, coffee maker, and dishwasher. Off the hallway, there’s also a utility room with a washing machine, and a bathroom with a shower over the bath. A twin bedroom on the ground floor offers a restful space with views of the courtyard. Upstairs, the light-filled main bedroom features a double bed, a charming feature fireplace, and views over the front garden. A single bedroom, decorated in calming tones, shares the same outlook.

Outside, enjoy breakfast or evening drinks in the sunny, enclosed courtyard patio, or relax on the lawn in the front garden. On-street parking is available for one car, with additional space just 50 metres away.

A lovely little cottage ideally located near the A1. Easy to find with many road side parking spaces. The cottage had many homely touches which made the property warm and inviting. The living space was cosy and the bedrooms comfortable. We had a lovely family break exploring the North East and would recommend this cottage as a wonderful base.

Lovely quaint cottage, fully equipped. Twin bedroom is small but fine for a week or so. Double bedroom is beautiful. Loved the little extras such as blankets provided to sit outside in the evenings.

We loved our stay at this well equipped cottage. It was so warm and cosy, a perfect base after a day of exploring the surrounding area. The location really is ideal, close to Berwick amenities and supermarkets but you look outside the window to a gorgeous little stream and countryside. Plenty to do and see in the surrounding areas, we visited Holy Read moreIsland, Lindisfarne Castle, Alnwick Castle, Spittle promenade (stunning), Seahouses and Bamburgh. Hide
