Charming country cottage in a peaceful village setting close to a myriad of local attractions, river walks and beaches, perfect for a family looking for a fun, coastal holiday.

This delightful country cottage is nestled among a row of terraced houses situated through a garden gate and pretty front garden. Fire up the wood burner and cosy down in the lounge after a busy day exploring. The well-equipped kitchen has a coffee maker as well as the usual necessary amenities; through here is a handy utility room with washing machine. A door from here leads out to an enclosed courtyard patio area, the perfect place to enjoy a morning coffee or dine alfresco on the patio seating as the sun sets. When the day is done, one of the bedrooms and a shower room can be found downstairs, while the other two bedrooms are upstairs.

Head to the historic town of Berwick upon Tweed (2 miles) and browse a great range of independent shops, pubs and restaurants. Choose from some water-based activities such as dolphin spotting, riverboat trips or fishing, or head along the coastal paths for some spectacular walks around the area. Go wildlife hunting at Lindisfarne National Nature Reserve and Holy Island (13 miles) or visit the imposing Bamburgh Castle (18 miles). Harry Potter fans will recognise Alnwick Castle (28 miles) from the film series; the attraction has year-round events and is a great family day out.

Very quiet cottage, warm, confortable, had everything we needed. Really appreciated the wine chocolates and other bits on arrival. Close to A1 but coud barely hear it. Walked into Berwick which took about 25 minutes, an easy walk and got the bus back.
