Fantastically located for beach days, this home is a wonderful destination for lovers of salty, sandy days. Greeted by a lovely welcome pack, make yourselves at home and settle in the inviting, open-plan living space which creates a tranquil heart of the home, perfect for both sociable and relaxing evenings. Sleeping four over two bedrooms, bring your dog along and have a ball hunting out fantastic stick-chasing spots with all the family.

Climb two steps to make your way into this cosy cottage and leave any extra layers and shoes in the handy utility room, great for wiping down muddy paws after days out and about. Head through to the kitchen where a coffee machine is a welcome sight and there are plenty of appliances to help you cook up a storm. Dish up at the table beside the French doors or step down and onto the patio for an al fresco feast in the garden. Breaking up the space in the living area is a warming wood burner with logs provided, perfect for lighting on chilly days after time spent exploring. Settle down in front of the Smart TV or rifle through the cupboard which is stacked with games, puzzles and books, before enjoying a family evening in the bright lounge. Say goodnight and climb stairs to the first-floor bedrooms, both of which have beautiful views over the garden. Enjoy a soak in the contemporary family bathroom before taking little ones to play in the treehouse (shared with other properties on-site). There is off-road parking for two cars.

Escape to the coast for a day full of sand, sea and surf. Make a splash in the water at Beadnell Bay (7 miles) where you can try your hand at water sports or hop on a boat from Seahouses (7.5 miles) to the magical Farne Islands which are brimming with wildlife, including seals and puffins. Take to the green at one of the local golf courses, including the course at Bamburgh (7 miles) which has magnificent sea views. Or visit Alnwick Castle and Gardens for a Harry Potter-inspired day.

Cottage is very nice but quite remote. Suggest you arrive with supplies for a day or two. Shower over bath is under sloping roof and tricky for tall bodies. Very peaceful area with some wildlife squirrels, peacocks and rabbits.

Lovely, well equipped cottage in a quiet location. We used it as a base to walk the Northumberland coastal path and this worked really well.
