A little further along the coast are the popular seaside villages of Seahouses and Beadnell, so you are never too far away from the beach. From Seahouses, you can take a short boat trip to the Farne Islands, a sea bird sanctuary in the British Isles with a colony of Atlantic and Grey Seals.
