This lovely, cosy, three bedroom cottage is located in the heart of the historic harbour area in Seahouses. As the name suggests, the cottage was once owned by the local Herring Master himself. Centrally located and with its own, off road parking, Herring Master’s Cottage is only a very short walk to the wonderful harbour, as well as the village centre with its wide range of shops, superb restaurants and friendly local pubs!
Step inside this traditional fisherman's cottage and you'll immediately feel at home. There's a cosy wood burner in the stone-built inglenook fireplace in the spacious lounge, with comfortable sofas and an armchair just perfect for curling up and relaxing in after a long day on the beach or cycling through the rolling countryside. Entertainment is provided by a Smart TV with Blu-ray player. The contemporary kitchen/diner is light, airy and well-equipped with electric oven and hob, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave oven and washing machine and there's seating for up to six around the dining table. You'll also find the bathroom on the ground floor with shower over bath, washbasin and WC. Upstairs, there are three cosy bedrooms, one with an original cast iron feature fireplace. Two are doubles while the third bedroom has bunk beds suitable for children or young adults. Each bedroom has plenty of storage.
Outside there is a decked area with a table and chairs for dining outside, as well as a gravelled area for your car.
You can see and walk to the magnificent Bamburgh Castle from Seahouses' beach or take the coast road for a scenic drive. The lovely beach and sweeping bay at Beadnell is a two minute drive in the opposite direction and well known locally for a range of water sports you can join in with or sit back and watch. Trips to the Farne Islands, days out in nearby Low Newton-by-the-Sea and the pretty harbour village of Craster with their walks to Dunstanburgh Castle, trips to Alnwick Castle and Gardens, Holy Island and so much more, are all on your doorstep. Herring Master’s Cottage is a great base from which you can explore all that stunning Northumberland has to offer.
