There are also pubs close by, one in Widdrington, The Widdringtom Arms and several in nearby Amble.
Also, nearby is the coastal village of Cresswell with its beautiful beach, ice cream shop and popular, dog friendly, seaside eatery, The Drift Cafe where you can enjoy good coffee, tasty snacks and full meals. There is a pathway from Heron’s Beck to The Druridge Bay Country Park which also has its own scenic lake with circular walking and cycling routes, a cafe, toilets and children’s play area. As well as seeing all the wonderful wildlife in the country park, you can also visit the Low Hauxley Nature Reserve close by and the medieval castle ruins, shops and restaurants in the lovely village of Warkworth are a well worth exploring.
