This delightful stone cottage is found in the Cheviot foothills of Northumberland National Park, a location known for its stunning scenery. Close to the Scottish border, the cottage offers magnificent uninterrupted views across farmland and Northumberland National Park - perfect for a relaxing holiday.
You'll be situated just outside of the village of Millfield where a pub and farm shop can be found, while the lovely market town of Wooler, complete with wonderful eateries using local produce, is just a short drive away. The Cheviot Hills offer outstanding walking, cycling, and horse-riding, while golf and gliding are also readily available activities. Landmarks such as Holy Island and Barmburgh Castle are a 45-minute drive away, while Alnwick Castle, used in the Harry Potter movies, and its spectacular gardens is also close by. Should you wish to hop over the border, Scottish capital Edinburgh is about an hour's drive.
Entering through the front door, you'll find yourself in the entrance hall, where you can kick those muddy boots off and hang up your coats after a day's exploring. Head off to the left and you'll step into a cosy lounge where you can relax in front of the wood burner, enjoy a meal at the dining table or sit and savour the rolling landscapes outside. The kitchen, with electric oven and hob, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge/freezer and microwave, is just off the lounge. Back through the hallway, you'll find two beautifully furnished bedrooms - one with a double bed and one with twin beds – with views out into the garden and the adjacent paddocks, and a bathroom with a shower over the bath and a WC.
Outside you'll find a lovely enclosed and lawned garden with flower borders, a table and chairs to enjoy al fresco dining and a charcoal BBQ. Don't be surprised to see a cheeky pony or horse wondering over to say hello from the paddocks opposite.
There is parking for three cars available on a gravelled area to the side of the cottage, a wood and coal store, and storage for bicycles. Dogs fees are charged per dog at £20.00 for up to 7 nights, £40.00 for up to 14 nights and an additional £20.00 for every week or part week thereafter.
