Mr and Mrs Fenner - 23 June 2012
Think of Honeysuckle Cottage at the centre of some wonderful concentric circles, and you won't go far wrong. In the outer circle, you have the splendid attractions of Northumbria, all within easy reach: from Berwick-upon Tweed in the north, with its ancient city walls (well worth walking), to Alnwick in the south. Alnwick offers its grand castle and, in nearby Rothbury, the stunning Cragside. The house is magnificent and the grounds are massive and beautifully landscaped. The next ring inwards encircles attractions a little closer to home. Craster is a short drive away, and from there you can walk along the coast to the ruins of Dunstanburgh Castle in about 20 minutes. From Seahouses itself you can walk two and a half miles to Bamburgh, where you can visit the imposing clifftop castle and also have tea in The Copper Kettle Tearooms. In the next circle, you have Seahouses itself. Walk down to the harbour: from here you can board a boat out to the Farne Islands, and see seals, puffins, terns, kittiwakes and more besides. A great place for a picnic! In Seahouses you can also stroll down to The Olde Ship, which is one of the nicest and friendliest pubs anywhere in England, I'd say. Just round the corner from the cottage is Swallows Smokehouse, where you can buy kippers for breakfast. There's plenty more to try there: I particularly liked the oak-smoked mussels. And finally, the innermost circle is Honeysuckle Cottage itself. Clean, bright, cosy, well-appointed, comfortable and welcoming. Locals in the know tell us it's one of the nicest in town, and we agree! Enjoy your stay. We did!

The cottage is well situated being in easy walking distance of the harbour and amenities, and on a quiet cul de sac. With Swallow Fishereies round the corner which we used on more than one occasion. Farne Isles boat trips are a must do. The picturesque village and large bay of Newton next the sea is lovely to visit.
We were very pleased and wouldnt hesitate to recommend to family and friends. Ideal location for access to boat trips and walks.

Bright, modern, clean and tidy this cottage represents good value for money.
I found dealing with your company a happy experience. When we had a problem with a bathroom mirror, everything was dealt with in a professional manner.
The cottage is ideally placed in Seahouses, clean and tidy, close to all facilities. There are many historic places to visit,Bamburgh,Alnwick, and Floors Castles a must.Food in Seahouses I would recommend The Ship at lunchtime, and The Links at night.

Honeysuckle is perfect for a family holiday. Ideally situated for wandering onto the rocks at Seahouses - good fun for children. A short walk to Bamburgh beach. Near to lots of cosy pubs. Round the corner from Swallows Fishery which sells local fish and shellfish.
