Chillingham Wild Cattle and Castle
Magnificent 12th Century medieval Castle is home to the only herd of wild cattle in the world, who have lived in the castle’s grounds, unhindered by man, for over 700 years.
Howick Hall Gardens
The gardens at Howick are deliberately aimed at garden lovers with the extensive grounds offering a wide variety of plants throughout the year and are open from early February until mid November.
Howick Hall Gardens has been rated by the BBC Gardener's World Magazine as one of the top 5 coastal gardens in the country and rated the Independent Magazine as 'one of the Best 10 Gardens to visit this spring'.

This interesting museum tells the story of historic Alnwick in an exciting and interactive way.
The Farne Islands lie two to three miles off the Northumberland coast midway between the fishing village of Seahouses and the magnificent Bamburgh Castle. As well as being the most famous Bird Sanctuary in the British Isles they also have a large colony of Atlantic Grey Seals.

A visit to Lindisfarne Priory makes a great family day out in Northumberland. Sitting offshore on Holy Island and reached by causeway at low tide.
