Positioned beside the double glass doors, the dining table is wonderful for enjoying meals while watching the sunset. The contemporary kitchen includes a handy breakfast bar where you can snack and sip hot drinks. Outside, relax with fellow guests in the south-west-facing, enclosed rear garden complete with lawned areas and garden furniture. In good weather, it’s a true joy to dine alfresco in the picturesque setting.
Whether you’re into walking, cycling, golfing, wild swimming or water sports, there’s plenty to do nearby. The local links golf course is 4 miles away in Seahouses, where you can also board a boat to the wildlife-rich Farne Islands from the fishing harbour. Or visit the local dune-backed beach, where you can spend an afternoon picnicking while the children play in the sand. Harry Potter fans will be keen to check out Alnwick (15 miles), whose castle features in the films, while at Craster (11.5 miles) you can sample some of the famous smoked kippers the town is known for.
