Ideal for multi-generational groups of family or friends, this chic house is close to the beach in the popular village of Seahouses. After days exploring the area you can spread out in the lounge and snug, play pool or spend the evening in the huge patio garden.

Drive in through the gates of this impressive three-storey property and step into its airy, open plan living space. Soft, natural colours throughout emphasise a feeling of calm and tranquillity. The sleek kitchen offers everything a cook could need to create delicious meals, and after supper you can either relax in the lounge area, where there’s a Smart TV and a DVD/CD player, or head up to the second floor (minding your heads on the low, sloping ceiling), where there’s a snug with another TV as well as a pool table. Why not set up a holiday league? You’ll find the four bedrooms all on the first floor: two king-size rooms with TVs and en-suite showers, a third king-size room, and a bunk-bed room (with full-size beds), plus a family bathroom. For outdoor drinks and dining, take a tray out to the enclosed courtyard, where there’s furniture all set up for you to enjoy the al fresco experience.

The house is just under a mile from the harbour, beach, shops, pubs and restaurants of Seahouses, where there’s plenty to do for all ages. Look out for seals and dolphins as you stroll along the coast path, play a round of golf, try some local seafood or book a boat trip to see the puffins and other wildlife of the renowned Farne Islands. A tour of Bamburgh Castle, 3.5 miles, is a must, as is a visit to Alnwick Castle, which starred as Hogwarts in the Harry Potter films, 13.5 miles.

This is a very well equipped, comfortable and modern property. We are regular visitors to the area but have not stayed with Original Cottages before. Ease of booking and communicating is on a par with other big holiday let organisations.

With some little more attention yo details this house would be amazing. (Lights not working, rubbish under bunk beds, more kiychen storage cupboards for guests ) but the location is excellent and the views are amazing, plus ample off road parking and the pool table was a hit in the evenings.
