Enjoy a seaside escape at this pretty, family-friendly retreat, in an amazing spot just metres from the seafront in Seahouses – there are lots of things to see and do locally. It’s also in a great location for exploring the Northumberland coast, before coming back and relaxing beside the wood burner inside or outside on the patio with a drink.
Sitting in the old town area, the cottage is warm and homely with stylish interiors and a welcoming feel. Go into the comfy lounge/diner, kick back and relax in front of the wood burner and watch TV. You can enjoy sociable mealtimes at the dining table or grab a quick bite to eat at the breakfast bar in the kitchen and after dinner, head to bed in the three pretty bedrooms upstairs. There is a lovely double room with an ornamental fireplace, a sweet twin bedroom where you can lie in bed and watch TV or a great film, and a cute single room. There’s also a family bathroom on the first floor where you can have a long soak in the bath and quick showers to start your day. On warm evenings, end the day sitting outside on the patio with a glass of something chilled as the sun goes down.
Wander to the waterfront, just over 150 metres from the front door, and pop to the working harbour where you can book a boat trip to the Farne Islands, which has incredible wildlife, including dolphins, seals, and puffins. Explore the narrow streets to discover the town’s fantastic pubs and seafood restaurants, cafes, and shops, and discover the impressive castle looking out across the sea at Bamburgh (3.5 miles). You can walk there along the sand from Seahouses Beach (3 miles), and you’ll find lots of pretty walking trails along the Northumberland Heritage Coast in both directions.
