Pack the adventurers for a holiday full of outdoorsy fun. This property, located near Chatton, close to the Scottish border, is the perfect place for a family and their dogs to stay after a busy day of walking along the coast and around Northumberland National Park. You’ll be surrounded by natural beauty and fascinating history and legends.
As you walk into the property you’ll be greeted by a lounge/diner, beautifully lit through the wide window and the wood burner. The space is airy and done in shades of tan for a rustic feeling. The kitchen is in the next room, where you’ll see everything you need to cook warming meals, and there’s a door to the garden in case you’d like to eat outside. The family shower room is also on the ground floor. Head upstairs for the bedrooms – this property has a king-size and a clever twin room which is organised to give the occupants some privacy. You’ll have two outdoor spaces: a rear garden enclosed with a stone wall, and featuring a table and BBQ for sunny afternoons; and a shared grassy space at the front, where you might meet residents of the other holiday cottages.
You’ll be staying on a farm in a small complex with two other properties. It’s quiet and tranquil, surrounded by stretching fields. The village of Chatton is a mile away, if you need supplies. There are lots of incredible places to explore inland, including the Routin Linn Waterfall (9 miles) and Northumberland National Park (6.5 miles). Make sure you also visit the coast. The seaside town of Seahouses (14.5 miles) has plenty of family-friendly attractions, and Holy Island (16 miles) is a gorgeous spot.
